Strong Constructions

Today we took part in the Shake Out earthquake drill being held across New Zealand. We knew how to Drop Cover Hold to keep ourselves safe in an earthquake. We discussed how engineers design buildings that don't fall down in an earthquake. One video we watched demonstrated how strong and wide foundations help to support buildings. We watched another video that showed how cylinders are strong shapes that are often used in constructions. A few of us took up the challenge and tried creating strong structures.
